# Books
**Books** are useful for things like rule books, where instead of a Template where each instance has unique Variable values, each page is unique, but will be the same size as the last.
The Book canvas is very similar to the Template canvas, but has a "Pages" section in the lower left panel, allowing you to add new pages, or duplicate existing pages.
## Tips
1. For common features, utilize [Prefabs](/docs/design/prefabs.md), so that you can change the common features in one place, rather than on every page. This is useful for backgrounds, for example.
2. Right-click a Layer and choose "*Move To"* and another page to move the layer. You can copy a Layer, then move the copy rather than recreating it, for non-prefab use cases.
3. Hold "Shift" when moving a Layer position to lock the movement to either vertical or horizontal changes. Hold "Command-Shift" to do the same to multiple selected Layers.
